As program assistant for MEO's East Lansing office, Katy Joe DeSantis provides support for ongoing programs and assists with providing written content for various MEO resources. She is also involved in outreach for the organization, as well as communication with participants in the BetterBuildings for Michigan program.

A 2011 graduate from Michigan State University, DeSantis has a BA in journalism with a specialization in environmental studies. She has interned for Traverse magazine and also worked as a photographer for MSU's student newspaper, The State News, and is actively involved in local food and sustainability issues in Lansing. She enjoys photography, live music, and gardening and horticulture, especially growing her own food to cook with.
