Jim Eaton joined the MEO team in October of 2009 and provides home assessment services and educational programming to income-qualified clients.  He also assists with northern office operations, including quality control for programs, customer service, marketing and outreach, as well as program design and implementation.

A licensed contractor with over 20 years of diverse building experience, Eaton holds a BS in Environmental Economics from the University of Minnesota, one of the first degrees of its kind that he personally designed.  As a builder he has incorporated sustainable building practices such as recycled materials, locally produced lumber and post consumer waste into the design features of his alternative homes and building projects. Focusing on low costs and high efficiency, Eaton also designed and built a straw bale home for himself in Wisconsin, as well as his current home, which has alternative heating and power systems to be used as needed.
