The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) is the state agency responsible forregulating electric and natural gas utilities, as well as certain services of telephone, cableand motor carriers. In order to inform citizens about important utility issues and to provide an opportunity to discuss concerns with staff, the MPSC will be conducting several consumer workshops throughout Michigan. Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC), the state agency with regulatory reponsibilities for energy, telecommunications and some video/cable, is sponsoring a series of Consumer Information and Assistance Forums around the state again this year. These events will allow citizens to discuss, with a commissioner and staff, utility questions and concerns, hear an explanation of how the Commission makes decisions, and give them the latest information on electric and natural gas rates for the winter as well as the status of local and long distance telephone service.
