The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) is the state agency responsible forregulating electric and natural gas utilities, as well as certain services of telephone, cableand motor carriers. In order to inform citizens about important utility issues and to provide an opportunity to discuss concerns with staff, the MPSC will be conducting several consumer workshops throughout Michigan.  Check out a workshop coming to your area soon!  Additional information can be found atwww.michigan.gov/mpsc.

Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC), the state agency with regulatory reponsibilities for energy, telecommunications and some video/cable,  is sponsoring a series of Consumer Information and Assistance Forums around the state again this year.  These events will allow citizens to discuss, with a commissioner and staff, utility questions and concerns, hear an explanation of how the Commission makes decisions, and give them the latest information on electric and natural gas rates for the winter as well as the status of local and long distance telephone service.  

We are also providing the “one stop assistance” approach for customers who need any services provided by utility companies, state agencies and /or other consumer or service organizations.  Therefore, we invite your company/agency/organization  to partner with the MPSC and other service providers to provide information and resources to the forum-city communities.  Since the outlook for this heating season does not look very promising, it is important that we collectively reach as many customers as possible with whatever resources we have whether it is food, clothing, shelter, finances, bill payment assistance, etc.  If you will partner with us at the forum(s), the MPSC will provide you with a table or other assistance so that you can display your information and resources to customers who need the information/services.
