A Little About The Organization
Michigan Energy Options is a results driven 501(c)3 non-profit focused on promoting and implementing quality energy-efficiency and sustainability programming. Since the organization’s founding in 1978 under the name, Urban Options, Michigan Energy Options has provided solutions for thousands of Michigan homes and businesses that save energy, the bottom line and the planet. Michigan Energy Options serves the state through various energy efficiency programs which include residential and commercial energy audits, workshops and seminars, low-income assistance and other programming. Our organization also boasts two Energy Demonstration Centers, located in East Lansing and Marquette, that offer visitors the opportunity to see energy saving, renewable energy and sustainable technologies at work. Visitors to both sites can take tours, experience exhibits and receive training. The City of Lansing's Go Green and Home Improvement Initiatives, Rebuild Michigan, a Department of Energy Labor & Economic Growth program for the promotion of energy-efficiency in Michigan's commercial building sector, Low Income Energy Efficiency programs with the Michigan Public Service Commission as well as recycling and environmental programming with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. Our organization is also playing a key role in the Michigan Implementation Team for the State of Michigan's Energy Optimization plans being run for a number of utilities across the state.
